Blake Shelton understands grief that often follows car accidents

Country music fans in Oklahoma and throughout the nation are likely familiar with the work of superstar Blake Shelton. What some may not know, however, is that Shelton suffered a great personal loss when he was age 14 and his big brother died in a motor vehicle collision. The pain and sorrow of that situation developed into Shelton's compassion for others as their mourn loved ones lost in fatal car accidents.

Simultaneous car accidents occur after vehicle hits pole

A witness recently reported that a vehicle had been speeding along an Oklahoma roadway at approximately 100 miles per hour or more moments before a serious collision occurred. In fact, the incident appears to have caused a string of car accidents that resulted in injuries to several people. Thankfully, every person involved in the five-car crash survived.

How long do I have to file a personal injury claim?

You were going about your day, running your planned errands in your car when, BAM, another vehicle hit yours. The incident caused you to suffer physically, financially and emotionally. If you want to seek compensation, you may do so by filing a personal injury claim in an Oklahoma civil court.

Some car accidents leave investigators searching for answers

When two or more motor vehicles collide on Oklahoma roadways, the cause is not always immediately apparent. In fact, many car accidents lead to more questions than answers, often resulting in extensive investigations, perhaps even re-enactments of a particular scene. One recent tragedy that has prompted investigators to search for more answers involved a pedestrian who was struck by a car.

Car accidents involving pedestrians especially tragic

It was approximately 7 a.m. on a recent Wednesday when a tragic incident occurred in Oklahoma. Car accidents such as this one, involving pedestrians, often end in fatalities. Police say the man who was struck by a southbound vehicle initially survived his injuries in this particular situation.

How to stay safe this Halloween

Halloween only comes once a year, and maybe that’s a good thing: With sugar-fueled children running around unpredictably, revelers drinking and driving and motorists unable to see small children in the dark, there is an increased risk for injuries. In fact, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that children are four times more likely to be in a traffic accident on Halloween than on any other day of the year.

Our roads are becoming more dangerous, not less

In the last couple of months, we have touched on a lot of issues with road safety and car accidents. People can suffer horrible injuries as a result of car accidents. Drivers can fail to operate their vehicles in a safe manner, whether it be due to bad choices or distraction. And pedestrians and bicyclists are in particularly dangerous positions out on the road, simply because of their inherently unprotected nature.

A requirement to carry insurance isn't necessarily a guarantee

Being in a motor vehicle accident can be traumatic and unnerving. Chances are, you might follow traffic laws to the letter in hopes of preventing a similar event but even the safest of drivers cannot avoid every collision, as others might not always adhere to the rules of the road as strictly as you do.

Whiplash and other car crash injuries: are they really that bad?

After any type of motor vehicle collision, there is the potential for passengers and drivers to suffer injuries. In severe cases, the injuries prove to be catastrophic and/or fatal. People may be paralyzed or suffer from a traumatic brain injury.
