Some car accidents leave investigators searching for answers

On Behalf of | Nov 15, 2017 | Car Accidents |

When two or more motor vehicles collide on Oklahoma roadways, the cause is not always immediately apparent. In fact, many car accidents lead to more questions than answers, often resulting in extensive investigations, perhaps even re-enactments of a particular scene. One recent tragedy that has prompted investigators to search for more answers involved a pedestrian who was struck by a car.

Officials reported that the recent accident victim was male but did not provide additional identification information. It was a Tuesday evening when the collision occurred in the metro area of Oklahoma City. Sadly, as is often the case in accidents involving pedestrians, the man in this situation did not survive his injuries.

No details regarding who was driving the car or what may have caused the vehicle to run into the man were published in the immediate aftermath of the fatal accident. In situations like this, it often takes weeks or months before conclusive results are obtained from official police investigations. In many past instances, various drivers have been deemed responsible for pedestrian deaths due to operating their vehicles under influence of alcohol or other reckless or negligent behavior.

When Oklahoma residents suffer the untimely deaths of their loved ones in car accidents caused by motorist negligence, state law allows them to file wrongful death claims on the behalves of their deceased family members. There are statutes of limitation and other regulations governing such claims. Therefore, it is typically within a family’s best interests to seek experienced legal guidance before heading to court.
