Car accidents: Life of young cheerleader cut short

On Behalf of | Feb 13, 2018 | Car Accidents |

Losing a child unexpectedly because of a vehicle wreck may be one of the most devastating processes a parent has to go through. Surviving loved ones of those killed in car accidents typically experience a range of negative emotions, such as confusion, anger, guilt, sadness, blame and countless others. For one Oklahoma family, these emotions have become a reality after losing their daughter, a high school cheerleader, from a heartbreaking car accident.

The accident occurred on a recent Sunday morning when the vehicle that the young girl was traveling in crashed into the post of a concrete bridge, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the vehicle was treated and released from a local hospital. At the time of the crash, officers reported that both teens were utilizing their seat belt.

The crash continues to remain under investigation as to why exactly the driver collided into the concrete bridge post. As for now, the family and friends of the deceased continue to mourn while trying to grasp what exactly happened to their daughter and beloved friend. If it is determined that the driver’s negligence was a factor, the family of the deceased may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate any cost endured from the accident such as funeral and burial costs.

It can be hard for a parent to accept the fact that his or her child is gone forever. Although the pain and heartache is immense, Oklahoma families facing similar tragedies may find it beneficial to file personal injury or wrongful death claims in order to seek monetary funds to help alleviate any financial burdens that arose from car accidents caused by negligence. With the help of experienced legal counsel, families can receive assistance in filing these claims to help make life a little easier during such an unfortunate time.
