Police in Oklahoma City are investigating the cause of a recent wreck that left one person dead. The collision occurred on Friday, May 25. Speeding is believed to have been a contributing factor in this crash, as it is for numerous car accidents.

In a news report released the same day as the crash, it was noted that two vehicles collided while both were traveling at a high rate of speed. The crash occurred near Youngs and Southwest 55th Street. Police responded to the scene shortly after 9 p.m.

At this time, investigators are not entirely clear as to what caused the collision. They have not identified which driver is believed responsible for the crash. Both drivers did suffer injuries, and one of whom succumbed to those injuries while in the hospital.

Car accidents happen every single day all over the state of Oklahoma, and when they do, fault is either clear as day or it could fall into a gray area. This particular case could go a number of ways. If the deceased victim lost his life due to the actions of the other driver, his surviving family members may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses. If the deceased individual is found to have caused the crash, the surviving victim may be entitled to seek compensation by filing claims against the estate of the deceased. Either way, if negligence can be established to the satisfaction of a civil court, monetary relief may be awarded for any and all damages deemed recoverable according to state law.
