Multivehicle crash leads to 2 deaths in Oklahoma City

If a driver causes a fatal collision, it’s important that they are held accountable. This is particularly true when a driver is speeding beyond reason and is not obeying the traffic laws.

Take, for example, this crash in Oklahoma City, where a 22-year-old man has been arrested on complaints of causing an accident that led to death without a driver’s license and of second-degree murder.

The crash that led to these charges occurred as a result of a disregard of traffic signals (a red light) and due to speeding at two times the speed limit, according to the probable cause affidavit produced by investigators. When the case was further investigated, it was found that the 22-year-old man was driving a stolen 2015 Dodge Charger and had a suspended driver’s license.

The sad reality is that the crash itself could have been avoided. The 22-year-old man sped through a red light, colliding with a silver vehicle and several others. That car was hit so hard that it was pushed down the road over a block from the point of impact.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger passed away shortly thereafter at the hospital. In total, four vehicles were involved, one of which was an Oklahoma State Employment Security Commission van.

Cases like this are tragic because so much of the pain and suffering that has resulted could have been avoided. If you lose a loved one or are hurt in a situation like this, know that help is available and that you can file a claim.
