The top ten most dangerous motor vehicles

In May, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a nonprofit research organization funded by auto insurers, released their list of the most dangerous cars on the road. Researchers measured over 200 models (2014 or equivalent) between 2012 and 2015. The only vehicles considered were those with at least 100,000 registrations between 2012 and 2015.

Don't let someone's lack of auto insurance crash your bank account

Laws in every state require carrying auto insurance of a minimum amount. However, a significant number of motorists nationwide are either uninsured or underinsured. In fact, Oklahoma reportedly has the highest number of uninsured drivers.

Has a drowsy driver left you with serious injuries?

Most people in Oklahoma have a tendency to feel fatigued at some point during the day. While the feeling may come as nothing more than a minor inconvenience in most cases, it could cause serious problems if the drowsiness becomes overwhelming, especially when driving is involved.

Will stricter texting and driving laws make roads safer?

The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) released a study that reveals nine states enacting stricter texting while driving laws. When are the most dangerous days for teen drivers?

Like most parents of teenagers everywhere, you are probably at least somewhat nervous at the thought of your teen behind the wheel. No matter how prepared your son or daughter feels to drive the streets of Oklahoma City, teenage drivers can only control how careful they are personally. Your teenager has no influence when it comes to another driver's negligence. As the number of alcohol-impaired drivers on the road increases, so too do the odds of your teen getting into a car accident that could prove devastating or even fatal.

New device may lower accident numbers, but in the meantime...

You've probably seen it more than a time or two on Oklahoma highways: a driver looking down at a hand-held device and typing with thumbs behind the wheel in moving traffic. Hopefully, you avoid such behavior while driving and do your best to remain alert and cautious of any distracted driver who may be in your vicinity. Just because you recognize the signs of distracted driving, however, doesn't mean you'll be able to avoid a collision.
